General COVID-19 Information

nirvanaHealth is committed to your health and safety. Below are answers to commonly asked questions about COVID-19. Regular updates will be made as needed.

How Does COVID-19 Spread?
COVID-19 spreads like other viruses through person-to-person contact. This is usually between people in close contact to one another from coughing or sneezing by the infected person. It may be possible to contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes. Spread of COVID-19 is possible even if people do not show symptoms.

What are the Symptoms of COVID-19?
Symptoms can be mild to severe and appear 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus. Common symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

What Should I Do if I am Sick?
If you think you may have COVID-19, contact your health care provider as soon as possible. There is no specific cure available. Current treatments are to help relieve your symptoms or reduce the amount of time that symptoms are experienced. If you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or you have recently traveled, please contact your health care provider.

For mild symptoms, you will be able to stay at home during your illness. Stay at home and rest. Drink plenty of fluids. A humidifier or hot shower may help with coughing and sore throats. Pain relievers may be taken to help with fevers and pain. Avoid using aspirin. For more severe symptoms, treatment will be determined by your health care provider.

If you do become sick, stay in a room away from other people in your home (i.e., quarantine). Avoid sharing personal items with other people. Restrict activities outside your home except to receive medical care. Do not go to work, school, or public areas. Avoid public transportation, ridesharing, and taxis.

How can I Protect Myself from COVID-19?
The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed. Simple measures can assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19:

  • Washing your hands often;
  • Avoiding close contact;
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a mask when around others;
  • Covering coughs and sneezes;
  • Cleaning and disinfecting; and
  • Monitoring your health daily.

Masks are an important tool in slowing the spread of COVID-19.They provide a simple barrier to prevent respiratory droplets from reaching others. The CDC recommends wearing masks whenever you are around other people, even if you do not feel sick.

Getting vaccinated for COVID-19 is a safe way to build protection. These vaccines work by triggering protective immune responses in your body to fight against the virus. Talk to your healthcare provider to see if a COVID-19 vaccine is right for you. For more information on available COVID-19 vaccines, please refer to our COVID-19 Vaccines FAQs.

What if I am Pregnant?
According to the CDC, those who are pregnant are at an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. If you are pregnant, follow the CDC’s recommended guidelines to avoid becoming sick with COVID-19. If you develop COVID-19 symptoms, please contact your health care provider.

What if I am Traveling?
If you are traveling, we encourage you to visit the CDC’s Travelers’ Health website for current travel alerts. If you develop symptoms and you have recently traveled, please contact your health care provider.

What if I Want More Information?
You can find the most up-to-date information on COVID-19 on the CDC’s COVID-19 website.

RxAdvance is now nirvanaHealth.

Since 2013, the RxAdvance team has been dedicated to disrupting the healthcare industry, specifically in pharmacy benefit management. After 3 years of development, we went live with our first client in 2016 and delivered groundbreaking pharmacy benefit management services. Now that we have proven success year-after-year, we have decided to expand our impact beyond just the PBM industry—onto the payer industry. These two industries alone control the majority of the healthcare spend in the United States, including the $900+ billion of waste generated annually. With our expansion into a new portion of the industry, we have outgrown the RxAdvance name, since it does not accurately capture the scope of our healthcare reach and mission. We are excited to announce our new name and brand—nirvanaHealth. The RxAdvance name has served us well for many years and will continue to do so under nirvanaHealth.
